The attacks were blamed on Salafi Muslims,^[1] and the attacks began when the Salafis attacked the Coptic Orthodox church of Saint Mina, where they alleged a Christian woman was being held against her will because she wanted to convert to Islam.^[2][3][4] The attacks resulted in the burning of 3 Coptic Orthodox churches, and the destruction of many Christian-owned houses and businesses. In addition, 15 people were killed in the attacks, and about 232 injured.^{[3][5][6][7][8][9]} Among those killed were four Christians and six Muslims, while two other bodies were still unidentified.^[10] Imbaba has been known to be a stronghold of Muslim fundamentalists since the 1970's, but also comprises a significant number of Coptic Christians.^[8][11]

Am 07.Mai 2001 gab es in Kairo/ Ägypten eine Serie von Kirchenverbrennungen durch Salafisten.

Imbaba ist ein verarmtes Arbeiterviertel Kairos. Die Bevölkerung ist mehrheitlich fundamentalistisch muslimisch, die christlichen Kopten sind in der Minderheit.

Die Angriffe begannen mit der Kirche St. Mina als eine Christin von ihren koptischen Glaubensbrüdern abgehalten wurde zum Islam zu konvertieren.

Drei Kirchen wie auch Privathäuser und Geschäfte von Christen wurden abgefackelt, 15 starben (4 Christen, 6 Moslems, die anderen waren so verstümmelt, daß sie nicht identifiziert werden konnten, 232 wurden verletzt.

...reportedly owned by Adel Labib. The cafe is one block away from the Mar Mina church in Imbaba which on the same day was attacked by a group claiming that a Christian woman who had converted to Islam was being held in the church. Six people reportedly died during the attack.

Sieh einer an! Da werden Kirchen verbrannt und Christen sterben und unsere Systemmedien berichten von Demokratisierungsversuchen im Maghreb. Unglaublich! Aber wichtig ist, dass 14 Tage lang rund um die Uhr von dem irren christlichen Attentäter berichtet wird, der einen Massenmord begeht. Wo ist da die Verhältnismäßigkeit? Es muss der Eindruck entstehen, dass islamische Gewalt verherrlicht und kleingeredet, bzw. verschwiegen wird, um die muslimische "Minderheit" in diesem Land ungerechtfertigterweise zu schützen. Meine Verachtung für das Konstrukt BRD, was sich als Saubermann nach außen hin präsentiert, jedoch durch Verlogenheit und Ungerechtigkeit glänzt, wird von Tag zu Tag größer!
